Three Sons of Odùduwà
Ìlàrá-Mọkín
The first to leave. He travelled until the earth told him to stop, and there he founded Ìlàrá-Mọkín.
Ìjẹ̀rọ̀-Èkìtì
The second brother. He chose the high places. From his hills he watched the seasons turn.
Ilá Òràngún
The third. He went furthest of all. The town he founded, Ilá Òràngún, was named for him before he had even arrived.
The Lineage
All three were sons of Odùduwà. The same blood that became the first king of Ifẹ̀ became the first kings of three other places. Three crowns from one root. This is how the Yoruba world was made: not by conquest, but by the leaving of brothers.
