Adam & Eve
Adam & Eve
Through his work with Eden, Anthony delves into the origins, mythos, and timeless struggles and triumphs of humanity through portraiture.
Returning to a familiar medium with seven new paintings, Anthony recasts the biblical Creation Story in black, presenting unmistakably African representations of Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel, as well as monochromatic depictions of the creatures that preceded them.
These works explore themes of innocence, conflict, actions, and consequences, with the silent yet intense gaze of each subject urging viewers to contemplate both the beauty and pain of creation.
The Collection chronicles a progression, mirroring the essence of a world emerging from darkness into light, symbolising both new beginnings and continued reflection on enduring mysteries.
This Collection continues Anthony's practice of conveying emphasis through fusion. By seamlessly integrating fabled stories of the past with the innovative technology of the present, he dismantles the barriers between the traditional and the futuristic, enabling these narratives to be experienced across both tangible and virtual spaces.
Azekwoh's Eden invites us to witness the eternal questions of creation and legacy through a lens that remains as focused on the future as it is on the past.

The Process
Each painting in this collection has been handpainted by the artist, using skills he has developed after almost a decade in the digital painting space. Building on traditional methods, he works from layer to layer, as one would with physical paint. This brilliant use of texture and technique is a major reason why Anthony’s work shines amongst his contemporaries, drawing even digital art skeptics into a new world.
