Tutu
Tutu was inspired by a memory of a different, and maybe better time. I came across this clip from a Nollywood movie and I was taken back to parties in front of our houses with those canopies and bottled drinks, to weddings where everyone dressed so beautifully and looked even better. Tutu, for me, was a condensation of all that, of what being Nigerian felt like in those times: simple, painful, beautiful, raw--a strange mix of warm and cool, orange and blue.
