‘Lágbájá’ depicts the masked face of the renowned Fuji Artist and icon of the Nigerian music scene. The name translates from Yoruba to mean ‘Anonymous’ or ‘Faceless One’, and represents the ethos of de-platforming the self in favour of championing the ‘common man’ which lies at the core of his artistry. In choosing to portray him, the Artist aims to highlight egalitarianism In direct countenance to the grandiosity and self importance that tends to be seen at the upper echelons of the Nigerian socio-political landscape.
