One of the Artist’s earliest forays into sculpture, Tọ́lání portrays a woman adorned in Aṣò ẹbí, the traditional garment worn by Women attending Ówàmbẹ̀. In the intricate folds of her Gele, one finds a calm, assured regality. Her closed eyes and neutral expression shield her true thoughts from view, indicating a pride that burns brightly and wavers for none.
